An open book

Who am I?

Just one of many humans doing their best to be happy and seek truth.

I find that the more labels I try to give myself, the more energy I scatter trying to explain why I am that thing. Because of this, I try to keep it to just one: Jack Morrison.

The problem

The scattered mind

Why this website exists

Universal adoption of social media, hyperconsumerism, and technologically powered paradigm shifts occurring year by year are just a few happenings of the age I, personally, am living in. Evolutionary theory and contemporary neuroscience support the fact that current living conditions are simply not conducive for fostering a calm and focused state of mind.

  • Human minds are wired for simpler things and struggle to adjust to demands so different from what we are evolutionarily wired for.
  • Rates of diagnosed ADHD have risen substantially; attention spans have generally been decreasing.
  • Students are performing worse in recent decades, especially in developed countries.

The scattered mind—the lack of ability to manifest intention—is the greatest challenge facing humanity. There is no doubt that human minds in collaboration are capable of miraculous things. A testament to this is the power of modern AI tools.

Regardless, our collective energy is scattered across nations, races, and countless other dividing forces. There is an anxiety in the collective consciousness: “I must fear, for the enemy may strike me down.”

This website and its contents are an affirmation I have and intend to continue sharing with the world. I have no enemies. So please, read my open book.

My solution

A common point of focus

What is this common point of focus?

To expel false knowledge and to instill true knowledge.

Truth is Truth. It is that which takes us farther. Knowledge is the substance with which we build our experience of reality.

With false knowledge, reality constructed is doomed to fall apart in the light of truth. With true knowledge, reality constructed is destined to surprise us with that which is beyond our current understanding. What is more glorious, holy, enthralling, or spiritual than the great unknown?

If Truth is insufficient as that which should unite us, the answer to what it actually is necessarily requires understanding of Truth to reach. Either way, for now, Truth must be the common point of focus.

Rather than tell you that I am a scientist or actor, I will lay out a series of topics and share my honest thoughts on them. This way you can decide what I am.

What is my take on?

The subjects that shape me

Truth

Truth is beyond theology, physics, mathematics, and even logic. It is what I, Jack Morrison, orient my life towards.

Understanding Truth is the gateway to understanding universally and increasingly desirable experiences of consciousness. One way or another, the information that may carry humans along what is, truly, the most harmonious path lies somewhere in Truth.

My religion is my personal experience. If someone asks me “What are you?”, I say “I am nothing.” Humans like Jesus, Moses, Buddha, Krsna, and Lao Tzu have taught me very much. I walk my own path, and whether someone walks alongside, perpendicularly, opposite to me, or wherever in between has no influence over whether or not I call them a friend.

Any goodness within me is the product of the nameless force of nature that loves, teaches, enlightens, and expels darkness. I have been blessed with the companionship of a human who has understood this force to a truly profound extent. I owe more than I am capable of accounting for to my Guru.

Neuroscience

The human brain is the most powerful piece of technology that we know of. Everybody gets one. And nobody is given an instruction manual.

An instruction manual would be helpful. I wish to contribute to a world where, alongside history and mathematics, children are given an education of how the technology most responsible for generating their experience of consciousness works.

I have acquired a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience with a minor in cognitive science from the University of San Diego. Thanks to countless supporters—namely Dr. Elizabeth Mills, my foremost research mentor—I am now playing my part more substantially by conducting experiments in a formal lab setting.

Drama

All is drama.

Even when atoms do not actually exist, they feign it so well that you cannot stick your hand through the display you read this on. When Sacha Baron Cohen says Borat is not a real person, the cultural, geopolitical, and cinematic paradigm shifts the character introduced are not a shade less real.

I seek to build a world where learning does not have to come at the cost of fun, and fun does not happen without learning. Drama is the wormhole that bypasses the energy necessary to shape the physical world.

Art

Everything is art.

The more art is created for the self, the subtler the power it attracts. The more art is created for another, the grosser the power it attracts.
